| Subject | [greenstone-users] repeated : Greenstone server immediate crash by clicking on link |
|
Hi
all, Since
my previous question did not get any replies or suggestions, let me rephrase it
here : how can a simple URL, generated by the solution given in the Greenstone
documentation on creating links from a document display, make the GSDL server
crash immediately ? A sample of such a URL is : and
it is created by the display script (in extra.dm of my collection lorinasp) as
given in the ‘Customizing collections’ WIKI pages. The
links are correctly created in the display and my Greenstone is otherwise
working without errors or problems… But
clicking on the link with the URL above immediately makes the GSDL server crash
(disappear) so the page cannot be found or displayed. No
error messages can be traced on screen or in the logs. I’m using GSDL
2.72 on a Windows XP machine. I
repeat for completeness’ sake my original message to this list of 3rd of
April. “Hyperlinks for
mutiple metadata values : immediate shutdown of Greenstone server” Message: 6 Date: Tue, 03 Apr 2007

implemented the instructions found on the page http://greenstone.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Customizing_collections in the section
"How can I hyperlink individual metadata elements ?" I have followed all
instructions, i.e. the second set by Katherine Don - as these are more recent
and apply to v.2.72 which I'm using on Windows . I get a nice display of
all metadata values as a link, but the URL created within these links causes my
local GSDL server immediately to shutdown ! Of course no result page then can
be seen (using Firefox). Here is an example of a URL
created : where 'MEERU' is the
metadata value which is indexed in the index LE of the collection 'lorinasp'
and the idea is indeed to retrieve all documents which have this metadata. So
the URL seems o.k. No logging of the problem
can be found in the Greenstone folder even when logging is on. Any ideas or suggestions ? Egbert (INASP) | |
