HI Richard
Thank you for your reply and suggestions.
I had try to run greenstone 3 many times. but it have the same problem, so that I back to check readme.txt file.
It had suggestion that................
'' Your Java version should be 1.4 or higher. We recommend Sun Java. You need the SDK (development environment). Set the environment variable JAVA_HOME to be the root of your Java installation."
So that I had uninstall all related file and I try to download and install    j2sdk-1_4_2_14-windows-i586-p following with greenstone 3.
I can run greenstone server and http://localhost:8080/greenstone3/library can access.
Oh God!   It' successful. it mean that we cannot use  jre-1_5_0_05-windows-i586-p for greenstone 3
I think its important to explain the difference between the jre and the j2sdk:

"jre" stands for Java Runtime Environment (JRE). The JRE allows java programs to run or execute on a computer.
"j2sdk" stands for Java (version) 2 Software Development Kit (SDK). The Java SDK allows programers to develop Java programs.

Perhaps confusingly, Greenstone 3 uses parts of the Java SDK to run on a computer. When you install the Java SDK, the JRE is also installed as part of the SDK. So when you say:

"we cannot use  jre-1_5_0_05-windows-i586-p for greenstone 3"

Actually you can use jre-1_5_0_05-windows-i586-p (this particular windows version of the JRE) for Greenstone 3, but in addition you need the java SDK, which includes the JRE anyway.

I had the other things to do and it will be questions to ask you as following:
I would like our users can access our greenstone collections via Internet, by use my computer as a server. My computer will be online all time (my computer be a one  computer in my office network).
How can I do? I try to read greenstone 3 user guide, but it not clear and I don't understand.
Please refer to this message, hopefully it will be helpful.
