Subject [greenstone-users] GLI as Applet on Windows IIS 6.0
Hello,

I am trying to get the GLI applet to run on a Windows 2003 server. I
have read on a couple of posts that this is not possible, that it must
be done on a linux/unix server. Is this true? If not, anybody give me
some guidance on setting this up for use on a windows machine.....when I
look at the following instructions, I cannot type in the keytool
commands directly on windows command line, it doesn't recognize them...I
have installed the jdk...any ideas?

If your end users will be using the GLI applet, you also need to do the
following four steps. These require the Java SDK -- if you don't already
have this you can download it from here
<http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html> .

1.In the Greenstone "gli" directory, run

keytool -genkey -alias privateKey -keystore appletstore -storepass
greenstone

Enter the appropriate details for your organization. When it asks to
enter the key password for <privateKey>, choose your own password or hit
Enter to use "greenstone".

2.Run

jarsigner -keystore appletstore -signedjar SignedGatherer.jar GLI.jar
privateKey

When it prompts, enter the password you used above.

3.Move the created SignedGatherer.jar file into the Greenstone
"bin/java" directory.
4.Edit the Greenstone "etc/main.cfg" file and set the "gliapplet"
field to "enabled".
