Dear Chandra,

You can put the Dl in the LAN / WAN following the
beloew steps:

Step 1 - see that the Greenstone
installation is in a LAN
Step 2 - Set its Windows Firewall to OFF (go to control panel or

□□□□□□□take it from My Network
places properties)
Step 3 - then give the Greenstone URL in
another workstation in the□LAN
http://IPAddress/gsdl□and test it. You can□also use the computer name
of its IP.

Also, updating your DL to 2.83 version is pretty
simple. Please take a copy of the following folders - "collect",
"macros" and "images" ("web" in the later
versions) for being on the safer side. Uninstall the present instance by
browing to the Greenstone location on the Desktop; And choose Uninstall;
Save the Collecitons; Reinstall and brose / retrieve the collections. The
Metada files will be intact□if you backup and restoe

Please take a look at the
South Asia support site□(http://greenstonesupport.iimk.ac.in)□for
more details and clarifications, and also use the South Asia eList greenstonesupport@iimk.ac.in□also
for clearing your doubts.□

Best wishes.□
