Hi Katherine and All,

I'm also having problems with OIDmetadata. I put a value in the metadata
and use OIDtype=assigned, but when I build the collection, it complains
about the periods in the identifier. Do these need to be escaped or
something?

Thanks,
Martin

Hi

I think the problem might be that the document identifiers are changing
each time. Please try assigning an identifier to each document/object in
Greenstone using metadata - it doesn't matter what metadata element to
use, e.g. dc.Identifier
Then when you import the collection you need to set -OIDtype option to
assigned, and OIDmetadata option to be the name of the metadata that
holds the identifier. The options should be available on the Create pane
of GLI. If not, please try changing to a higher mode.

Regards,
Katherine

Hi Tania

Yes, Greenstone can work with cyrillic alphabet. We use utf-8/unicode
internally so all languages are supported.

Katherine

Hi

The library should appear the same locally or online, so the user will
have the same homepage.

Hi

Create a new macro file in macros folder. Add it to the list of macro
file names in main.cfg. Give the page a package name, and add

oops

The requested page could not be found. Please use your browsers 'back' button or the above home button to return to the Greenstone Digital Library.
macro and others if needed.

Then you can link to the page using _httpppagex_(package-name) where
package-name is the name that you gave in the file.

Look at the other macro files for examples, eg home.dm and yourhome.dm
which is a substitute home page.

katherine

I haven't tried this, but can't see why it wouldn't work. Make sure
that
the filename in the csv file matches the item file used by
pagedimageplugin. You will only be able to assign metadata to the
document as a whole from the csv file, not to individual pages.

Katherine

Hi

I have just created a wiki entry that should help with this:
http://wiki.greenstone.org/wiki/index.php/Customizing_your_Greenstone_library#How_do_I_add_a_language_selection_box_to_each_page.3F

I hope you can follow this and get it to work.
Please let me know if something isn't clear.

Katherine

Dear all,

I am trying to make a bibliographic collection using greenstone 2.81 but I
have a problem when trying to explode the database.

I simply follow this tutorial:
http://wiki.greenstone.org/wiki/gsdoc/tutorial/en/bibliography_collection.htm

Specifically in step number 16, I right clicked on the marc file and
clicked
on the Explode Metadata Database. A window should open with options for
the
exploding process. However, this window did not open. Does nyone know how
to
solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Nisa
