Hi David

Greenstone is trying to be helpful and display the date nicely for you.
Unfortunately, you can't turn it off. What you need to do is to use a
different metadata element for your date, one that is not called Date.

Alternatively, the next release (hopefully out at the end of this week)
will fix this behaviour, so you may way to wait for that.
In the next release, [Date] will display Dates as entered, while
[format:Date] will do the pretty printing as before.
This uses a macro, so the format will be customizable.
