We have recently developed a function to export the GS2 archive file into the METs file format. Regarding to your request, I had a look the documentation of DSpace. It appears that DSpace only provides a similar function to export the METs format from their system rather than importing. However, DSpace does provide an importer to import a batch of files. I am currently looking at this aspect and trying out the intercompatability between two systems. In the meantime, I would like to clarify your requests. Are you only concerned with exporting to DSpace? or are you after a general solution? Do you want to export a whole collection from Greenstone to DSpace or only some specific documents? How do you envisage that the exporting would be used, for example, selecting a set of documents from search results and exporting them? Cheers, Chi-Yu Huang Greenstone developer
We've been running a collection on
Greenstone at the University of Pretoria for quite a while now, and
with great success. The question I now have is whether it would be
possible to export certain records from Greenstone to another platform,
specifically to dSpace. If possible, how can I go about to do that?
