Hi Bruce,

Dear Sir,

I downloaded the greenstone digital library software and initiate the installation on my Windows XP Home Edition, and this is the message that came up.

<A suitable JVM could not be found. Please select a JVM by selecting its java.exe file. >

It appears you need to install Java. (JVM means Java Virtual Machine.)

You could install Java EE SDK (Java enterprise edition software development kit) because I believe the GLI (Greenstone Librarian Interface) requires the Java SDK in order to function properly.

The Java SDK also includes the JRE (Java runtime environment) which provides a Java virtual machine which appeared to be your original error.

I would suggest you download from this page:;jsessionid=C64245860E4433450725A92199C95DA3

Choose the bottom download (for windows)

Hope this helps,
