try using PagedImgPlug - this is meant for documents with lots of page
images in sequence, and can associate OCR text with the images. It
should work even if there is only one page per document.
There are some basic instructions at the start of the plugin file
(gsdl/perllib/plugins/PagedImgPlug.pm).
there have been a lot of messages on the mailing list about this plugin
- have a look at the mailing list archives collection if you need more
