Hi Seema,

I'm another greenstone user. For efficiency, I use -OIDtype incremental, but I'm
not sure what you are looking for in way of efficiency with the index.txt.

I do have a related question: as I continue to add columns to my index.txt, it is
getting a bit illegible by humans (line wraps). I am considering moving to using
xml as the metadata file. Are there advantages of one over the other (index.txt
and a metadata.xml)?
