Subject [greenstone-devel] Greenstone Linux 2.41 release: compiling from source
Hello everyone,

This message is only of interest if you have downloaded the version 2.41
Linux binary release, and want to compile the source code.

If you run Install.sh and choose to compile the source code (rather than
install the binaries), there is likely to be an error during
configuration when configuring the new isis-gdl package. This causes
further errors later on when compiling.

The root cause of this problem is that the configure script in the
packages/isis-gdl directory is not executable. The best way to fix this
is to make the gsdl-2.41-unix/src/packages/configure script executable
(chmod a+x configure) after untarring the gsdl-2.41-unix.tar.gz file.
The Install.sh script can then be run as normal, and the compile should
be successful.

I have updated the gsdl-2.41-unix.tar.gz file available for download to
fix this problem, so new downloaders of this package should not be
affected.

Sorry about this minor gremlin,

Michael
