Hi Philip,

*QUESTION ONE*

If I get you correctly, page 16 of your workshop manual (exercises section)
describes what you need to know:

[ex.link][icon][/ex.link] links to the Greenstone HTML version, while
[ex.srclink][ex.srcicon][/ex.srclink] links to the original.

Just comment out or delete the format statement that looks like
<td valign=top>[ex.srclink][ex.srcicon][ex./srclink]</td>
and that should leave you with the one you wish to retain.

You will also note that the "How to format the output of your
collection.pdf" document describes the links to the "Greenstone" and
"original" versions of documents uploaded into collections:

[link][/link] Link to the document (Greenstone version)
[srclink][/srclink] Link to the original document (only if the original was
converted to another form)

*QUESTION TWO *
You can specify links to "anywhere" from the home.dm macro. You can also use
macros to make the design more structured, e.g., by using the /gsdl
macro that links to your "/gsdl" folder. You could then throw your html code
in a sub-folder of the /gsdl folder. For example, <a
href="/gsdl/about/vision.html">Our Vision</a> where "/about" is a
subfolder of your top most Greenstone folder. More about macros is found on
http://wiki.greenstone.org/wiki/index.php/All_about_macros

I know you're "itching" to customise your site as soon as possible but
I'd advise you to make sure you go through all the exercises in the workshop
manual you received plus the others on the Greenstone CD. Try to also search
for solutions from the documentation on the Greenstone site (
http://wiki.greenstone.org/wiki/index.php/GreenstoneWiki) - you'll probably
find many answers to your questions there, but anyway, feel free to ask when
stuck!

Kindly give feedback if this has (or has not:-)) helped.

Regards

Amos
