Cool, sheet music collections are always needed. (My thesis research is
on optical recognition of sheet music :p ).

I'm not personally familiar with the PagedImg plugin, but I can give a
few pointers on how other people have done sheet music collections.

Meldex (http://nzdl.org/musiclib) pretty much has a custom backend and a
modified greenstone frontend, but that is more than displaying images of
sheet music.

You might be more interested in the excellent Chopin sheet music
collection (http://chopin.lib.uchicago.edu/) which sounds more like what
you want to do. Tod Olson is responsible for this - I think they
dispensed with greenstone's importing phase entirely, and wrote their
own tools to generate files in greenstone's XML archive format, using
greenstone for indexing them and creating the browsing classifiers.

The archive format is fairly simple, and while this approach requires a
bit more technical know-how, it probably gives you much better control
over content if the supplied greenstone plugins don't do exactly what
you want.

Try searching the archives
(http://nzdl.org/cgi-bin/library?c=gsarch&p=about) for messages from
him.

Good luck :p
