this is part of wvWare, which is the program greenstone uses to
convert Word .doc files into HTML. I would suggest installing
textproc/wv from ports and then getting greenstone to ignore the
bundled version by removing "wv/wv-gs" from the PACKAGEDIRS variable
in gsdl/packages/Makefile.

I hope to spend some time in the near future getting these bundled
packages out of greenstone and getting greenstone to better integrate
with package management systems (debian/red hat/gentoo/ports etc).
