Subject [greenstone-users] Editing metadata sets
Hello,

We are library students putting together a digital library with Greenstone at
Simmons College. Though we've waded through documentation and list archives,
we still have a couple of questions that may seem basic.

We're running v. 2.52 on Windows XP, and can get a library running fine, but
we're running into two stumbling blocks:

Problem 1: ADDING ATTRIBUTES/ELEMENTS Right now we have started with
basic Dublin Core but wanted to add some Qualifed DC. We run the
gems.bat file and get the Metadata Sets editing interface. We open the
DC folder and view the elements/attributes. We want to add dc.Coverage.spatial
and dc.Coverage.temporal (for example), but cannot
figure out how to do it. We also wanted to add a completely new field
(for Category). All the instructions in the documentation and Help talk
about buttons like "Add" and "Remove" but we have no buttons at all in
that "Editing Metadata Sets" interface.

Problem 2: MULITPLE INSTANCES OF ONE ATTRIBUTE/ELEMENT In a
metadata.xml file for our collection we have two lines for dc.Subject.
When we go to the Enrich interface we see the second dc.Subject, but it
is greyed down, and we cannot apparently search on that field in the
built collection, nor display the second value in addition to the first
value for that attribute.

Any advice would be most appreciated. Thanks.
