Hi,
I was able to solve the problem. I followed the foll sequence to
implement a shared import folder.
1. Built a test collection using the mkcol.pl command on the command
line.
2. I placed some files physically in the import folder.
3. Then ran the buildco.pl command
4. Now I opened this collection using the gli and assigned the necessary
document plugins and metadata and built the collection again.
This time I was able to build the collection without any hassles.Thanx
for all the help Michael!

Regards,
Chaitra
