| Subject | [greenstone-users] Intel/MacBook index byte order |
| This is more a request for information than anything else. One of
the students in our DL course used one of the new MacBooks, with an Intel Core 2 Duo chip, to create a Greenstone installation and a few test collections. She then copied the her installation up to our class server (an AMD opteron box) and found that the indexes she'd generated on her MacBook weren't working. By converting her indexes to text form on a PowerPC machine and then back to ldb form on the Opteron machine, we got things running. But I'm a little surprised that an Intel MacBook is generating a big endian index. Is that indeed the problem here? Jerome McDonough, Asst. Professor
