Subject [greenstone-users] Greenstone Language Pack v2.53 released
Hello everyone,

A new version of the Greenstone Language Pack is now available for
download from our Sourceforge page:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/greenstone, or via
http://www.greenstone.org/cgi-bin/library?a=p&p=download

This package contains all the language interfaces available for the
Greenstone digital library software (version 2.53 only). It includes the
four "core" languages included in all distributions of Greenstone
(English, French, Spanish, Russian) and interfaces for thirty-three
other languages (Arabic, Armenian, Bengali, Catalan, Chinese
(Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Dutch, Farsi,
Finnish, Galician, Georgian, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian,
Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Latvian, Maori, Mongolian,
Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Serbian, Thai, Turkish,
Ukrainian, Vietnamese).

New since the last release are:

Bengali - Created by Prasenjit Majumder
Chinese (Traditional) - Created by Shu-Jen Show
Kyrgyz - Created by Fedor Bakalov
Mongolian - Created by Mendbayar Ichinkhorlo

The Catalan (Universitat de les Illes Balears) interface has also been
substantially updated since the last release.

Most of the interfaces have been created by volunteers, and we are
extremely grateful to these people for their time and effort. Creating a
Greenstone interface in another language is not difficult (it
essentially consists of translating English strings into another
language), so if you are multilingual and you would like to see a
Greenstone interface in your language, we would love to hear from you!
Please e-mail me (mdewsnip@cs.waikato.ac.nz) for more details.

Note that because the Greenstone interface gradually changes over time,
some of the interfaces are incomplete.

Please report any problems with the Greenstone Language Packs directly
to me, or on one of the mailing lists.

All the best,

Michael
On behalf of the Greenstone team
