Here are a few of the major things that have changed/been added.

*) We are allowed to distribute activeperl for windows with gsdl,
so greenstone is now self-contained - you don't need to download
ActivePerl separately if using windows.

*) New plugins include ExcelPlug (for MS Excel), PPTPlug (for
MS PowerPoint), UnknownPlug (to make it easier to import
arbitrary files) and W3ImagePlug (for doing images from the
world wide web). The first two will only do MS Office formats up
to 97 as far as I am aware.

*) Languages - new Indonesian interface, and updates to others
such as French and Arabic.

*) Should now compile cleanly with gcc version 3.0 and above.

Of course there are thousands of minor improvments, additions
and fixes... see the changelog.txt file if you want the gory
details.
