This package contains all the language interfaces available for the
Greenstone digital library software (version 2.51 only). It includes the
four "core" languages included in all distributions of Greenstone
(English, French, Spanish, Russian) and interfaces for twenty-six other
languages: Arabic, Armenian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Dutch, Farsi,
Finnish, Galician, Georgian, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian,
Italian, Japanese, Kannada, Kazakh, Maori, Portuguese (Brazil),
Portuguese (Portugal), Serbian, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian.
New since the last release are:
Armenian - Created by Tigran Zargaryan

Georgian - Created by George Varamishvili
Serbian - Created by Tamara Butigan
The Czech (Jakub Rehan), Italian (Massimo Pesenti), and Maori (Te Taka
Keegan) interfaces have also been substantially updated since the last
Most of the interfaces have been created by volunteers, and we are
extremely grateful to these people for their time and effort. Creating a
Greenstone interface in another language is not difficult (it
essentially consists of translating English strings into another
language), so if you are multilingual and you would like to see a
Greenstone interface in your language, we would love to hear from you!
Please e-mail me (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more details.
Note that because the Greenstone interface gradually changes over time,
some of the interfaces are incomplete.
Please report any problems with the Greenstone Language Packs directly
to me, or on one of the mailing lists.
All the best,
On behalf of the Greenstone team
PS A Mac version of the Greenstone Language Pack will follow soon.
