Hi Lisa

Greenstone can't do this as it stands at the moment. Each time you click
on a link in a classifier hierarchy, the only context information you
have is the node to be opened. From this node, you can get the children
and parents, but not other previously opened nodes - this information is
not stored.

You can view the entire hierarchy at once by adding gc=1 to the url you
get when you click on the subjects button.

I think what you'd need to do would be to get the entire hierarchy, then
use javascript to open and close the folders without reloading the page.

This would require programming I think. Although maybe you could achieve
it with a new macro file.
You need to load in the entire hierarchy when the user first enters the
subjects classifier (using gc=1) and then the new macro file could use
javascript to only display certain bits of it, and the links would be
modified to display/hide the folders and their contents.

This sounds like quite a useful interface feature - if you get it
working, we'd love to get the code :-)

I hope this helps
Regards,
Katherine
