I am here assuming that you are running Greenstone version 2.83.
On the machine running your Greenstone server, you are likely to have a
little white dialog open that is the Interface to the Greenstone Server.
This dialog will have a File menu. Please try the following:
1. Go to File > Settings
2. In the section of the dialog titled "Address resolution method" try
selecting one of the first two options. If either option works for your
particular machine's setup, it may allow you to access the library using
your machine's IP address or your machine's hostname in the URL.
3. Having selected on of these two options ("Get local IP and resolve to
a name", or "Get local IP"), you also want to tick the box above it
that's labelled "Allow external connections", if you haven't already
done so. If this box is checked, it will allow you to access your
Greenstone library pages from other machines.
4. Press the OK button in this Settings dialog, to save your changes.
5. Press the "Restart Library" in the original dialog, the Greenstone
6. Once the server has restarted, check that it is running by visiting
the Greenstone library home in a browser on your server machine. If it
doesn't work it could mean that your server machine isn't set up for
resolving IPs to host names or may have issues with getting the local IP.
7. If step 6 worked, test that *same* new URL from your remote machine.
Write us if you encounter any difficulties.
