Subject [greenstone-users] mac os x version of greenstone
Hi to any Mac users of greenstone.

I'm in the process of making a new binary package for greenstone
version 2.40 for OS X, but unfortunately it's taking me a bit
longer than expected. If I can get things right, then it should
be much easier to install (ie it should ask a few questions and
pretty much install itself). Hopefully I'll have it ready next
week. I do have a question though, since I don't really know
OS X that well - is /usr/local/ a good place to install greenstone
to, or is there a better place, bearing in mind that it is mostly
run by the webserver and not really by "normal" users?

A reminder that the biggest change to greenstone 2.40 since 2.39
is the inclusion of the new Librarian interface (which requires java
to be installed), so the 2.39 mac binary package is fairly up-to-date
apart from this new feature.
