*I got a similar problem while starting the GLI on Vista. Follow the foll.
steps. It did work in my case.*

*Try this technique*

*1**. Right click on the entire Greenstone *

*program folder (under "Program Files").
2. Click Properties.
3. Click on the Security tab.
4. Under Group or User Names, click on Users.
5. Click "Edit".
6. Click on "users" again.
7. Click the checkbox in the window beneath *

* that says "Full control" in the "Allow" column.
8. Here you MUST hit "Apply". If you just hit *

* "OK" the properties won't change**.
After you hit Apply, then hit OK.*

*Hope this will work for you too.*
