Hi,

Please note that the Greenstone "local library" (only available on windows)
was once based on the fnord webserver but has little relation to it any
more. The original webserver code in the local library came from a very old
version of fnord and has since been hacked about extensively.

It appears that someone has picked up the old fnord server and developped it
further. None of the features this new version of fnord boasts (password
authentication etc.) are available within the greenstone local library.

Greenstone itself does include some support for password authentication
however (as is used by the collector and the administration pages). If you
don't mind altering the C++ code slightly and recompiling it should be
relatively simple to make specific greenstone collections or a complete
greenstone site password protected. See the following entries in the list
archives for further help:

cheers,
Stefan.
