Subject [greenstone-users] Greenstone v2.52 released!
Hello everyone,

We're pleased to announce that the Windows/Linux/Source distributions of
Greenstone v2.52 are now available for download from our sourceforge
page: http://sourceforge.net/projects/greenstone, or via
http://www.greenstone.org

This release contains a lot of new functionality, and is therefore
likely to be a little less stable than usual. Important changes in this
release include:

- A new OAI server built into Greenstone -- see the etc/oai.cfg file for
details
- Support for exporting Greenstone collections as METS
- A new pane in the Greenstone Librarian Interface ("Mirror") for
downloading resources from the web
- The ability to run the GLI as an applet and build collections over the
web on a remote server
- The Greenstone Editor for Metadata Sets (GEMS), an improved editor for
GLI metadata sets
- Support for partial matching (eg. comp*) with MGPP
- An Ogg Vorbis audio file plugin
- Lucene building support
- Classifier button images for all the Dublin Core 1.1 metadata elements

- Improvements to ISISPlug for automatically obtaining referenced
documents in the ISIS database and associating metadata with them
- ...and many many other improvements and bug fixes

We want to ensure that this software works well for you. Please report
any problems to greenstone@cs.waikato.ac.nz, or on one of the Greenstone
mailing lists.

All the best,

Michael
On behalf of the Greenstone team

PS New versions of the Mac OS X binary distribution, Export collection
package, Greenstone Language Pack and Workshop Materials package will
follow over the next couple of weeks.
