Subject [greenstone-users] Greenstone Language Pack released
Hello everyone,

Three weeks ago, I made the foolish promise that this would be available
"in the next day or two". Well, it's finally here... You can download it
from our project page on
sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/greenstone

The Greenstone Language Pack contains all the language interfaces
currently available for Greenstone (version 2.40 only). It includes the
four "core" languages included in all distributions of Greenstone
(English, French, Spanish, Russian) and interfaces for fifteen other
languages (Arabic, Chinese, Czech, Dutch, Galician, German, Hebrew,
Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kazakh, Maori, Portuguese, Thai,
Turkish). Of particular note are Czech, Galician, Japanese and Thai,
which are new since the last Greenstone release.

Most of the interfaces have been created by volunteers, and we are
extremely grateful to these people for their time and effort. Creating a
Greenstone interface in another language is not difficult (it
essentially consists of translating English strings into another
language), so if you are multilingual and you would like to see a
Greenstone interface in your language, we would love to hear from you!
Please e-mail me (mdewsnip@cs.waikato.ac.nz) for more details.

Note that because our interfaces have been created by others, some of
them are incomplete.

Please report any problems with the Greenstone Language Packs directly
to me (mdewsnip@cs.waikato.ac.nz).

Regards,

Michael Dewsnip
