Dear Colegas I have been carrying out some tests with
Greenstone with the purpose of verifying the feasibility to implement a
collection of images (mainly photographies in Jpg format.); for which a simple
worksheet has been developed; following the logic of processing partly given by
winisis. (Author, title, department of origin, notes, description, date.); when
initiating our tests with Greenstone; we have been with a new modality of
structure of data, defined like metada sets; whose structure is enough completes
and in addition they are; as in the case of the metadata Seth based on Dublin
Core, accepted structures of processing like standard.
But a little complicated is seen
the adaptation of some of these formats, to the format that we hoped to apply,
by this we need know if somebody that had developed to a similar format to whom
we want to implement (Author, title, department of origin, notes, description,
date.), could share with us thus to verify the steps to give and/or
adaptation.
Another difficulty with
that we have run into refers the ImageMagick application; although all the steps
indicated in the site of this application have been followed for their
installation; that is to say, one settles and the images see when to folders or
archives are opened; but when creating a new collection (that contains images)
and adding imageplug (in the design area); soon one happens to the creation area
and when giving the instruction to create collection, when running the creation
process, sends error messages indicating that the images are not going away to
be able to see because imagemagick is not installed and cannot be recovered or
indeed be visualized no registry. As opposed to the previous thing it wanted to
summarize:
1. - If somebody has some format that can share in
relation to images (jpg, GIF, etc) and that this format has more less supported
the description of the same (Something like: Author, title, department of
origin, notes, description, date, or seemed.)
2. - If some colleague has had a similar problem and
the form in which this fué solved (In relation to the problems
presented/displayed by ImageMagick.)

efectuando algunas pruebas con Greenstone con el fin de verificar la
factibilidad de implementar una colección de imagenes (principalmente
fotografias en formato Jpg.); para lo cual se ha desarrollado una simple hoja de
trabajo; siguiendo en parte la lógica de procesamiento dada por winisis. (Autor,
título, departamento de origen, notas, descriptores, fecha.); al iniciar
nuestras pruebas con Greenstone; nos hemos encontrado con una nueva modalidad de
estructura de datos, definida como metada sets; cuya estructura se ve
bastante completa y ademas son; como en el caso del metadata set basado en
Dublin Core, estructuras de procesamiento aceptadas como
estandar.
Pero se ve un poco complicado la
adaptación de alguno de estos formatos, al formato que nosotros esperamos
aplicar, por esto quisieramos saber si alguien que hubiera desarrollado un
formato parecido al que queremos implementar (Autor, título, departamento de
origen, notas, descriptores, fecha.), pudiera compartir con nosotros para así
verificar los pasos a dar y/o adaptación.
Otra dificultad con la que hemos
topado se refiere a la aplicación ImageMagick; si bien se han seguido todos los
pasos indicados en el sitio de esta aplicación para su instalación; es decir se
instala y las imagenes se ven cuando se abren carpetas o archivos; pero al crear
una nueva colección(que contiene imagenes) y adicionar imageplug (en
el área de diseño); luego uno pasa al área de creación y al dar la instrucción
de crear colección, al correr el proceso de creación, envia mensajes de error
indicando que las imagenes no se van a poder ver porque imagemagick no esta
instalado y efectivamente no se puede recuperar o visualizar ningún registro.
Frente a lo anterior quisiera resumir:
1.- Si alguien tiene algún formato
que pueda compartir en relación a imagenes (jpg, gif, etc) y que este
formato soporte la descripción de la misma (Algo más menos como: Autor,
título, departamento de origen, notas, descriptores, fecha, o
parecido.)
2.- Si algún colega ha tenido un
problema similar y la forma en que este fué solucionado (En relación a los
problemas presentados por ImageMagick.)
