Hi Allison

The search results ordering is a bit funny.

For mg collections, it can't do ranking and boolean searches together. A
'some' search will return a ranked list, while an 'all' search will
return in build order.

For mgpp, it can actually do both at once. However, to keep the
interface the same as for mg collections, it was decided to make 'some'
searches ranked, and 'all' searches in build order.
So for your collection, if you change to all search, then you will get
ordered by date.

I had just had a look to see if there is an argument that you can set to
make it order by date for both some and all. There isn't.
I will need to modify the code and the interface to separate the
some/all and ranked/build order options. I have added a ticket for this
to be looked at for the 2.84 release. Unfortunately it won't make it in
to the soon to be released 2.83.

You might like to set the default value for t arg to be 0 (in
etc/main.cfg, cgiarg shortname=t argdefault=0) then at least users will
get date ranked search for the default settings.

Regards,
Katherine
