Hi,

it seems that your applet is not compiled and installed.
Have a look there :
http://wiki.greenstone.org/wiki/index.php/Remote_Greenstone
<http://wiki.greenstone.org/wiki/index.php/Remote_Greenstone> specially the
point 9
Before using the jarsigner command you have to run ./makegli.sh to compile
the gli applet.

Regards

Yvan Arnaud

Objet : [greenstone-users] Installing Greenstone on a Ubuntu LInux box,
almost there, java errors

I've been working on installing Greenstone 2 on an Ubuntu Linux box,
intending to use the web interface for management. I think I'm 99% of the
way there, and the web site comes up when I go to
http://hostname/greenstone/cgi-bin/library.cgi
<http://hostname/greenstone/cgi-bin/library.cgi>

However, I get a Java error when I go to the librarian interface:

Unfortunately I don't have a ton of expertise with Java applets, and don't
know quite how to interpret this. It looks like there may be something
missing.

I know that GatherApplet.java is there:

/usr/local/Greenstone2/gli/src/org/greenstone/gatherer/GathererApplet.java
/usr/local/Greenstone2/gli/src/org/greenstone/gatherer/GathererApplet4gs3.ja
va

and its globally readable.

Anyone seen this before?

Scott
