Yes,
there is a low-level amount of spam being sent to the list. We are
running Spam Assassin, so anything marked as spam above 10 points is
automatically discarded, and anything above 5 point gets sent to the list
admin (me) for moderation. The only stuff that goes out to the list is
the spam that sneaks in under spam assassin.

If the problem becomes significantly worse, we can make the list so that
only subscribers to the list can post, and posts by anyone else have to
be moderated first. However, this would lead to delays in people getting
the mail and responses, so for now we'll leave posting open.
