Hi again,

This may help you as you're on Windows.

If you're worried that you may not have the latest GS3 version (and it
so happens that you do need one of the latest versions to get the
QBRSOAPServer stuff), then you can get the latest SnapShot of Greenstone
3 with installer from
Get the "Windows Native Executable", called
greenstone-3<something>-win32.exe (it's about 95 Mb when I tried to
download it just now).

It will contain binaries of the latest version of the previous night, so
you do not need to do any compiling or building (no "ant prepare
install" stuff, not even svn stuff). Since you don't need to compile,
the VCVARS.BAT file is not needed in this case either.

The above is all thanks to Greenstone team member Oran Fry who's worked
hard for a long time on getting that
nightly-snapshot-with-installer-for-Windows thing going.

One thing, however. Some of the building code in Perl--used by GLI to
create collections--is currently undergoing dramatic changes and may not
work or have caused other things to break. I don't *think* the stuff you
seem to wish to use Greenstone 3 code for is dependent on that part of
the code base, but bear it in mind in case something unforeseen happens.
