Hello,

I tried out Greenstone 2.82's GLI applet on Windows XP just yesterday. I
found that I needed to do the following to get things to work:

1. Open cgi-bingliserver.pl, and edit the 1st line.

From:
#!C:yourgreenstonebinwindowsperlperl.exe -w
To:
#!C:<yourgreenstone>binwindowsperlbinperl.exe -w

2. If you don't have gsdlsite.cfg yet, make a copy of
cgi-bingsdlsite.cfg.in and name the copy "gsdlsite.cfg"

Open the new file gsdlsite.cfg and adjust its gsdlhome value to be the
path to your GS2 installation (and save):

gsdlhome C:<your greenstone>

See steps 3.1 and 3.2 at
http://wiki.greenstone.org/wiki/index.php/Installing_Greenstone_2_from_source_for_Beginners#Compiling_the_Source

Make sure to replace $GSDLHOME with the path to your Greenstone
installation.

3. Also, just to be safe, rename the file "server.exe" in your top-level
Greenstone directory to "server.exe.old"

Now try http://wiki.greenstone.org/wiki/index.php/Remote_Greenstone
Especially step 6.

Does it work?

Regards,
Anupama
