Hi Cathy,

A. You asked:

I just tried setting permissions on a folder on Windows 7. I got this to
work here by
1. rightclicking on a folder > Properties.
2. In the Properties dailog, select the Sharing tab, and press the
Sharing button located half-way through.
3. Then, if your locale is an English language one, type "Everyone" in
the top text field (or find the equivalent for other locales).
4. Click the Add button next to this text field.
5. In the list of people and groups with permissions below, you will
want to click the down-arrow next to the new entry "Everyone" and give
people Read/Write permissions.
6. Finally try pressing the Share button at the bottom of the dialog.
7. Repeat for the other folders.
Hopefully this does the trick.

Note that if you wanted to set *execute* permissions on a folder in
Windos 7, you'd rightclick on the folder > Properties > Security tab.
Select "Everyone" in the list at the top, then in the list below for
"Everyone", make sure that "Read & Execute" has a tick under the Allow
heading and no tick under the Deny heading.

I believe these files (alongside
http://wiki.greenstone.org/wiki/gsdoc/patches/2.83-windows-server.exe)
are needed only if you're working on a Windows XP. But as your machine
is Windows 7, I think the original files that came with the installation
are more likely to be the right ones in your context. Please see
http://wiki.greenstone.org/wiki/index.php/2.83_Release_Notes, and look
for all occurrences of the word "Depositor" until you come to a mention
of the section called "Windows XP issue".

C. For the Premature End Of Script Headers error, try fixing the above 2
things and we'll see what (if anything) they do about the script headers.
You may also want to look at the what worked for someone else at
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/red-hat-31/500-internal-server-error-655247/
See particularly their post 6 and its final line: "AddHandler cgi-script
.cgi .pl"

You sound like you're very busy, but I thought I'd ask anyway: have you
tried the Greenstone 2.84 release candidate on the page
http://www.greenstone.org/snapshots ? Did this have the same problem on
your machine and set up? (The Depositor worked for us here, when we
tried out a Greenstone tutorial involving this. I recall that some
changes were made related to the Depositor, including some bugfixes.)
Knowing if it did have the same problem in the 2.84 release candidate
may help us fix this for the final release of the version.

Regards,
Anupama
