Subject [greenstone-users] Greenstone Training Course
Dear friends,

A small Kenyan organization, the Kenya Information
Preservation Society, is interested in exploring the
possibility of hosting a basic Greenstone training
course in Nairobi.

Would you please let us know if your organization
could supply a trainer for such a course. How much
would you charge? How many days are recommended for a
basic course? How many people can be trained at one
time?

We do not have specific dates in mind, simply the
sooner the better! We will be trying to raise money
for this course so please let us know the charges
involved.

Presently we are editing a database containing
bibliographic details of theses and dissertations
reflecting research on Kenya. We hope to have this
database produced on Greenstone in CD-ROM format. We
have two people trying to put the ProCite data into
Greenstone, but they are struggling, particularly with
field 45 which contains multiple subject terms,
separated by slashes. It is essential that each
individual subject term becomes an access point. Our
two programmers have not been able to make this
happen. Could you advise on this problem?

Please let us hear from you as soon as possible.

Our best wishes,

Ruth Thomas
Member, Executive Committee
Kenya Information Preservation Society
