These two pages start an "Adult Education Review" section in the Sustainable Energy News !
This section is part of INFORSE's work on adult learning and the environment in preparation for the UNESCO International Conference of July 1997. (See page no. 5)
We are reviewing the adult educational possibilities in the field of sustainable energy.
This time, we introduce six centers which mainly provide non-formal international adult education in English

Jointly with ARTES (Appropriate Rural Technologies
Extension Skills) of Flensburg University. For whom: People with university degree BSc., and professional experience of 2 years. Lnguages: English/Gerrnan (a course included in the program.) Tuition Pee: Yes, but DAAD scholarships are available.
ARTEFACT is an NGO member of lNFORSE The center has a demonstration park with wind, solar, hydro, biogas, biomass etc. Accommodation is available. Guided tours.
Subjects: wind power, solar thermal, photovoltaic, biogas, co-generation, transportation on renewable energy.
When: 2 weeks to 3 months, all year around.

Type of education: workshop, theory, excursions. Tuition Fee: Yes.
For whom: Everybody interested. Also expert courses on design of wind turbines and biogas plants.
"Training-Fellowship"
For Whom: People from developing countries and Eastern Europe. The interns are graduate students, senior staff or persons having knowledge, background and interest Duration: 3-6 months Language: English. Fee: None. Accommodation and per diem are provided.
The FOLKECENTER, established in 1983, is an NGO member of lNFORSE The center has a demonstration park with wind m)lls, solar panels, plus energy house, green house dome etc Accommodation is available. Exhibition bus touring in Europe.
