THE TRIBUNE is a quarterly newsletter, produced by the International Women's Tribune Centre, in English, French and Spanish. Although these newsletters are not training manuals exclusively addressing housing issues, they provide all those working in the field of community training with an invaluable resource, since they contain:
- descriptions of actual community projects and contact-address lists of women's groups working in a broad range of activities;
- bibliographies of books, training manuals, periodicals and useful resource materials;
- up-to-date information about specific women-and-development themes which can be easily used as a source of background information for presentations and discussions;
- practical ideas and information, suggestions for training activities and examples of graphics that can be reproduced in community publications or trainers' handouts.
Above all, the newsletters are generously illustrated and use simple line drawings, large lettering and visuals, so that they can be used by project personnel, trainers and community development workers for stimulating discussion on issues with newly literate women in training workshops and in other action- oriented situations.
