Regional Report em Disaster Management to be Published
Disaster management has come a long way in the Region of the Americas in the last 20 years. It is time to examine just how far professionals. Institutions, and communities have come in terms of disaster preparedness and prevention, in what direction they are going, and how much more needs to be done.
PAHO, with contributions and support from the OAS and a wide array of individuals, national institutions and organizations, is preparing a comprehensive report on the status of disaster management in Latin America and the Caribbean. The hook will have a multisectoral approach, and is meant to inform the general disaster management community of advances and to promote support for future projects in mitigation and preparedness projects. It will be presented as a contribution of the Region of the Americas to the World Conference on Natural Disaster Reduction in Yokohama, Japan, in May 1994.
