There are two chapters about Vietnam in this edited book. The first is by Khe Ba Do who provides first hand knowledge of the development of tertiary education and the second is by Jean Berlie which is also written from firsthand knowledge and regreats the way the education system regressed following the withdrawal of the French colonists and the socialist period. The second chapter provides a section on higher education after 1975 and the current status of higher education then identifies problems and prospects and for this reason it this book may be of interest but it was published in 1995 and the information may now be dated.
