This section draws together the findings of this study, which
investigated the entry characteristics of new entrants to the teacher training
college. This is the first study of this nature undertaken at the National
Teacher Training College. It may be noted as already pointed out, that the
College has developed a practice of collecting data on some characteristics of
new entrants by recording the entry qualifications and from interviews of these
students prior to admission. The extent to which the College tutors use this
information beyond admission purposes could be a subject of another
investigation.
