Sport

We always wore a tie, even to see Rugby.

During the 50's travelled on the "Mooloo" Express, leaving Hamilton on a chartered train at 6am, arrived at Wellington at 6pm, overnight travel on the Ferry, arrived at Christchurch at 6am. Saw the game - a 3 all draw. Reversed this procedure - 1600 mile journey, about 600 Hamiltonians to see a game of Rugby.

"Had our own band in Waikato colours. At every stop on the way the band paraded up the main street", fun to all.
