I said last week that US postal rates had gone up for every country except Canada. Wrong! The new Canadian rates for 1/2 oz. to 2.0 oz. are: US$.46, $.52, $.64, and $.72. Mexico is $.40, $.46, $.66, $.86; other countries are $.60, $1.00, $1.40, and $1.80. [Peter Ludemann , 7/21/95.]

I also mentioned an Opportunity Judging Group that checks out advertised services. So I should mention that the Minnesota Attorney General is suing National Consumer Credit (NCC) over the HUD refund-locator opportunity, which costs $49-$69 for an information packet. Minnesota claims that there is little likelihood of earning $600/week in 3 hours/day. [WEBster, 7/25/95.] (The demand for home work is so high that any legitimate employment or franchise would quickly saturate. Indeed, some of the scams list companies that advertised a few jobs a decade ago. (I read that one such still gets 2-3 letters per day.) You can make good money from home, but not as an employee or envelope stuffer. Put out your own shingle and sell your professional services, or subcontract to those who do. The key is customers, not employers.)
