I've been asked about Robert Siminoff's address. I mentioned his FORTRAN 77 retinal simulation in V1 N1, but forgot to give his net address. It's siminoff%ifado@uunet.uu.net.

Stephen Wolff (steve@cise.nsf.gov) points out that different NSF divisions and programs have different proposal cycles. My comments last week apply only to "regular" or "general" research proposals in CISE/IRIS competitions. I believe that most computer science and engineering cycles are similar, but other divisions may be quite different. NSFNET, for example accepts proposals at any time. The Networking and Communications Research program has two deadlines per year -- December 1 for a June start and May 1 for a September start. Grant seekers should check with relevant NSF program officers.
