New Team in Kilimo

E. Muthamia - KILIMO HOUSE

Yes! they have teamed up again in the service of our beloved country. We are talking about the top management at Kilimo House. The Honorable Minister Musalia Mudavadi and Permanent Secretary Mr. Philemon Mwaisaka are together once again in one Ministry. The two, almost a decade ago, teamed up in the same capacities at the then Ministry of Supplies and Marketing. Therefore, they bring with them a wealth of experience to the Ministry of Agriculture, which is viewed as the engine for the country’s achievement of a newly industrialized status by the year 2020.

Honorable Mudavadi who had been at the helm in Treasury at a time when the Government was undertaking economic reforms and specifically the liberalization of the agricultural sector will be a key figure as the Ministry starts achieving the fruits of liberalization.

Mwaisaka’s, extensive experience in administration is of particular importance in enhancing the Ministry’s operations which revolve around farmers as the key players.

His experience as the immediate former Permanent Secretary for Cooperative Development is equally an asset for this Ministry in line with liberalization, where farmers are encouraged to strengthen their co-operative organizations to take over the responsibilities of procurement and marketing of their products.
