Mary Garrett Hay to Maud Wood Park [1919] Document 13: Mary Garrett Hay to Maud Wood Park, New York, [1919], Woman's Rights Collection, Mary Garrett Hay Series, Schlesinger Library, Radcliffe College (Women's Studies Manuscript Collections microfilm, part B: New York, reel 1, frame 469).

This letter from Mary Garrett Hay to Maud Wood Park expressed her frustration with the senate's scheduling shifts. These and other setbacks were daily events.

                    [early June 1919]

My Dear Maud - Friday P.M.

All men are liars - Rep. & Dem - at least they get that way when they go to the Senate

From Marjories [Shuler] report last eve our Amendment comes up Tues & not Monday - that means no vote before Wed or Thurs. I am afraid.

Mrs. Catt has just found out that her dates are changed & she can be in Washington for "your party" Tues June 10 - coming down Monday afternoon June 9 - This will give you more time - if the --- men will only get w/ the vote-

              Hastily with love

              Mary G Hay
