In summary, measles remains a common cause of childhood illness and death in developing countries. The challenge facing all health workers is to work towards the control and ultimately the eradication of measles through:

· Immunization
· Surveillance
· Other disease control measures including effective case management.

Death, disease and disability from measles can be reduced dramatically by effective measles case management. This slide set and booklet have outlined the basic principles of measles case management.
