Hello Lynne,

You can limit the languages available in the preferences page for your
install of Greenstone by editing the file:

<greenstone_directory>/etc/main.cfg

About halfway down the file you'll encounter configuration options that
look like this:

Language shortname=ar longname=Arabic default_encoding=windows-1256
Language shortname=bs longname=Bosnian default_encoding=utf-8
Language shortname=cs longname=Czech default_encoding=utf-8
Language shortname=de longname=German default_encoding=utf-8
Language shortname=el longname=Greek default_encoding=windows-1253
Language shortname=en longname=English default_encoding=utf-8
Language shortname=es longname=Spanish default_encoding=utf-8
Language shortname=fa longname=Farsi default_encoding=utf-8
....

Just comment out the languages you don't wish to support by inserting a
# at the start of the line, like so:

# Language shortname=ar longname=Arabic default_encoding=windows-1256
# Language shortname=bs longname=Bosnian default_encoding=utf-8
# Language shortname=cs longname=Czech default_encoding=utf-8
# Language shortname=de longname=German default_encoding=utf-8
# Language shortname=el longname=Greek default_encoding=windows-1253
Language shortname=en longname=English default_encoding=utf-8
# Language shortname=es longname=Spanish default_encoding=utf-8
# Language shortname=fa longname=Farsi default_encoding=utf-8
....

Cheers,
John
