Richard,
I've taken a closer look at the 'Japanese' problem, since it didn't add
up for me that one file would be recognised yet others not from the same
batch. On closer perusal, the other files have transferred (via ftp)
empty, hence the problem! It's not Wordplug's fault at all. I'll push
on trying to work out why these files are coming across devoid of content.
