Hi,

Ok now I see how Greenstone stores the data.
But are you sure that I can't do SQL requests to the GDBM file?
With SQLite for example...

Thank u.

Laurent Giovannoni.

Hi

Greenstone uses GDBM (Gnu Database manager) to store metadata,
classifier information, and document structure information.
The database for each collection lives in
gsdl/collect/<collection>/index/text/<collection>.ldb
You can look at the database by running
db2txt gsdl/collect/<collection>/index/text/<collection>.ldb

Greenstone also uses MG (Managing Gigabytes) to create the search
indexes and store the full text of any textual documents. For more info
see http://www.mds.rmit.edu.au/mg/

Neither of these uses SQL requests.

Katherine Don
