Hi

Greenstone uses GDBM (Gnu Database manager) to store metadata,
classifier information, and document structure information.
The database for each collection lives in
gsdl/collect/<collection>/index/text/<collection>.ldb
You can look at the database by running
db2txt gsdl/collect/<collection>/index/text/<collection>.ldb

Greenstone also uses MG (Managing Gigabytes) to create the search
indexes and store the full text of any textual documents. For more info
see http://www.mds.rmit.edu.au/mg/

Neither of these uses SQL requests.

Katherine Don
